After 21 years with her high school sweetheart, Andrea talks about how keeping things simple has been both a journey and a revelation. From double standards to decoding desire, they chat about savoring connection, exploring change, and finding excitement in the familiar.

Welcome to Filthy Little Secrets, the show where real everyday women get real about sex. We're here to shatter stigma and trample taboo one candid conversation at a time. My name's Marvin, but my readers know me as Morgan Hale, filthy romance author. And I'm your host for this heart-to-heart chat about something most of us think about, dream about, and even yearn for. But few of us feel comfortable admitting it, talking about it, or celebrating it. So let's get filthy together.
SPEAKER_02Welcome, welcome to Filthy Little Secrets. And I'm joined today by my dear friend Andrea. Welcome, Andrea.
SPEAKER_04Thanks for having me. I'm excited to be here.
SPEAKER_02Thank you for agreeing to do this.
SPEAKER_04Of course. I think it's amazing what you're doing.
SPEAKER_02Oh, well, so I say that now.
SPEAKER_04I don't know what the questions are.
SPEAKER_02Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sure, you know, we'll have uh however many episodes in when I'll be like, was this a good idea? I think it was a good idea. Um, no, it feels like a good idea.
SPEAKER_04For sure.
SPEAKER_02So first question is what made you want to hop on a sex podcast and talk about sex?
SPEAKER_04Oh my god, I think sex is amazing and super important to talk about. And it's so, I don't know, society is kind of fucked up. Can I swear I didn't even ask? Oh, yes, totally.
SPEAKER_02Yes, okay. Completely. And then one of the taglons of this is like uncensored and ashamed. So yes, I did read that.
SPEAKER_04Okay, good.
SPEAKER_02Speak naturally.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. So I feel like there's this stigma around sex, but everybody does it, and we all have such different experiences and different desires. And how will we know anything outside of ourselves if we don't talk about it? So I'm really excited to be a guest and talk freely and we'll see what happens.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes. I love it. Yeah, I mean, I feel like that's like kind of the world that we're in right now with social media is everybody is putting certain things out there about who they are, but there's definitely things that we hide. Yeah, and sexuality is one of those things that it's just like we're just gonna all pretend like we're not all humans. Yeah, human, exactly. Yeah, and it contributes to this feeling of like maybe I'm the only one who's this sexual, you know, because nobody else seems to be, and I'm I'm very aware of what's going on in between my ears, right?
SPEAKER_04Exactly.
SPEAKER_02That's like was the spirit of doing this, and I am wondering what you so like I think that's like a cultural thing for everybody, but I'm wondering for you as a woman in 2024, like, is it safer for a man, let's say, to have sexual thoughts and feelings?
SPEAKER_04Yes, like I feel like growing up too, um it it's very it was like almost expected for men to be sexual and and have sexual thoughts and like I don't know, high school and they're uh that's all boys think about. And it's like, oh, really? Like, I don't I don't know. I wasn't really that way, I don't think. I consider myself like super vanilla, but I love to hear other stories and what people are doing in their sex lives because it's like, oh, oh, I didn't even know that was a thing, or oh, I'll have to try that or whatever. So I think that yeah, growing up, it was much more acceptable or even expected for men to be sexual and have sexual thoughts, but we never talked about it growing up. Like my girlfriends and I rarely, I'll say, but now it's like I have really good friends now. So we talk about everything.
SPEAKER_02Isn't it great to get to an age where it's like okay to actually start to be a little real and God, it's so refreshing. That was that was so amazing to me at the retreat that we both went to, you know. It was mostly women there, and yeah, um, you know, but some of the conversations that we had in the games that we played and how it just was this playful, fun, yeah, okay to actually say things and laugh about things that were that were sexual. I found that very refreshing.
SPEAKER_04It was, and then you like really get to know people, and even if someone's not totally comfortable, it's okay. There was still space being held for them to hear what they wanted or the level they wanted to, you know? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. So, so back on this topic of like, you know, you said when you were younger, like none of your girlfriends talked about it. Did you ever witness a time when one of your contemporary female friends did say something or was caught in a situation and they were treated in a way that wasn't very affirming or accepting of their sexual you you did say that?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I think like the biggest thing was if you had a reputation, specifically in high school, you you were the slut, you were, you know, trashy, like it was just so negative. But if it was if the tables were turned, it would have been completely acceptable. Right. And it's like there was at one point, I think we were in college, and one of my best friends, her roommate, was I have to make up the number because it's been so many years, but she basically was like, I've been with like 60 men, and I was like, What the fuck? Like, ew, because I had like this thought, and now I'm like, get it, girl.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's your boat. Who gives a shit? Like, yeah, it's your life to live, you know? Yeah, yeah. But yeah, it's it's just interesting the way we're brought up and and our surroundings, how much that really impacts us through our lives until we realize, like, no, being sexual is normal and healthy, you know. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So how did your sexuality first start to surface for you?
SPEAKER_04Oh God. So we actually growing up, there was um sexual abuse in our home, and everything was like so hush hush. Like nobody talked about anything. So it was so abnormal for me to even, I didn't even have the desire to talk to people about it. Like high school, um, even college days, I was like, whatever, but just wasn't top of mind for me. So um, I met my now husband in high school, or high school sweethearts, 21 years. So, so that's where things started for me was with him. And I actually was like learning a lot with him, and um yeah, just it was crazy. Things never were talked about, and then I was like, Well, I know I want this, but I don't know what to do or how to do it, and what's wrong or right, and so it was kind of just like a a big trust fall with him, and I was like, Yeah, it worked.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, that's so cool. So, yeah, so you were navigating like just the whole exploration of your desires and what these boundaries are, and you all held hands together and walked through together, yeah, and it was like so vanilla at the beginning, like missionary, you know, always and I don't even remember when we really started to like change things up, but we I don't know, we have a great sex life now where we'll try new things, or even in the past like five years or so, like he's opened up to me about things that he's desired that I was like, Oh, I didn't know, like I had no idea, and then he was so relieved to share it with me because he thought there would be judgment or whatever.
SPEAKER_04I'm like, No, I don't give a shit, let's go, you know.
SPEAKER_02Oh that's so fun.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so we're still evolving together, which is cool.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. If you're in that moment when he reveals something like that for you, what does that feel like?
SPEAKER_04Is that like a it's a total turn on? Yeah, okay, and and it can be really scary, you know, because you're like, here's this person I love so much, and I'm nervous that they might judge me for this. Not that there's any evidence of that ever, but there's still that fear, yeah. Yeah, but then once it's out, you're like, let's go.
SPEAKER_02Like, come on now, yeah, yeah, exactly. So if you could go back to your 18-year-old self and talk to her about her sexuality, yeah, what would you say to her?
SPEAKER_04God, I would have just encouraged her to like explore her body more. Um, I was not doing that until honestly, it was probably after college. And it's just nothing that I ever again thought to do was like self-pleasure. Um, and then having done it after, I was like, wow, I've missed out on a lot, you know. But also there's so much power in the female body that was, I think, untapped. I was always, always, always in my masculine. And I feel like the feminine is such a beautiful side and energy to be in and play in. And I missed out on a lot of that. So that's what I would have gone back and said to her.
SPEAKER_02Love it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02When you talk about the feminine and the power of it, how do you experience that? Like, what does that feel like for you when you're in it?
SPEAKER_04Okay, there's multiple different ways to experience it. So the best way is through orgasm, right? And I love to like if I'm well, there's never a bad time to self-pleasure, in my opinion. But if I'm like, if I feel a creative block at all, I'm like, I'm gonna masturbate. Or if I am, I don't know, wanting to manifest something, like that's a great time to orgasm, is like to man, you know, manifest while you're orgasm as orgasming, if I could say it. Um, but also just like learning being in the feminine is also for me at least, the intuition and listening to my body, like it's gonna be a yes or a no. Um, and really honing in on that. So, to be honest with you, I think it was probably almost four years ago I was introduced to Mama Gina. Um, she wrote Pussy a Reclamation, and that book completely changed the way I viewed my body. I was able to tap in, um, I was able to listen to my body more and feel into that feminine power. And that highly recommend. I feel like every human should read that book, but definitely every woman.
SPEAKER_02Every woman, yeah. That's cool. I have not heard of this book, but I'm extremely curious. And I love what you're talking about about um orgasm as a form of like as a way to manifest. I I feel like my future orgasms are meant to hold more intention for creation, you know, the things that I'm creating that I'm you know, that that's like a next level for me is to bring that in. So I love that you're doing that and seeing that as a because that's new territory for me. I haven't really thought of it that way, I don't think, even though obviously our creative energy and then like life comes from it. So why wouldn't we also be able to create anything? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04In the book, they um she talks about like I forget the time frame, but back in the day they used to have women like flash their pussies at crops in order to help it grow and create that life. And yeah, so there's the book is phenomenal. Um I I learned a lot from it, so you would love it for sure.
SPEAKER_02Yes, sounds like I would I'm gonna have to get this in my Kindle ASAP. Oh cool. Well, and you actually answered my one of my next questions was do you have any female sex heroes that inspire you? And it sounds like she is one of those people.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, Mama Gina's phenomenal. I actually um through that journey, I was doing coaching for um, I called it Project Weight Love, like loving your body and loving the skin that you're in. And while I was doing that, I met um another woman, uh Megan Mialy. She's phenomenal too, and she's like sacred movement, and she's teaching women how to tap in through like on a stripper pole. I love her. Um so she's super fucking powerful and what she does for women is just amazing. I had her as a guest um during one of the courses I did, and she led us through like the dance movement on Zoom, and there was like, I don't know, eight of us or something, and everyone just had such an incredible experience of their own, and it was all very different, but uh just being able to express themselves through using their body and moving and and feeling themselves and touching themselves in certain ways or whatever, it was just so fucking beautiful. So I love her too.
SPEAKER_02Cool. Yeah, I'm gonna have to look these people up and put them in the in the show notes.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, for sure. I'll let I'll send you all their info.
SPEAKER_02All right, please do awesome, cool.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, okay, so can I um ask you a few questions that are maybe a little more personal?
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah, let's go.
SPEAKER_02Okay. So uh do you I mean, do you have any recurring sexual fantasies?
SPEAKER_04Um that have been unfulfilled.
SPEAKER_02Well, not necessarily. I mean, it could actually be something that you know is an experience that you had that you just kind of keep reliving and whatever whatever uh goes on in between Andrea's ears.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so it's interesting. I feel like again, I've said I'm vanilla, but I have these thoughts, right? And I'm like, I would love to like be a part of an orgy or double penetration. And it's like that also the orgy doesn't scare me, but the double penetration scares me a little bit, but it's also like really um I don't know, enticing as well. So those are the things I think about.
SPEAKER_02I actually witnessed an orgy and I wasn't a part of it, I was just like, you know, observing it, yeah, and I found it so beautiful. It was like watching like a ballet, it was just you know, these bodies, I mean all these naked bodies that were just moving like the ocean.
SPEAKER_04Oh, that's amazing.
SPEAKER_02And you could feel and you just imagine the energy in the room. You know, it was so palpable, and it was, yeah, it was absolutely amazing. I mean, to me, and after that experience, it was like whether you're a part of one or not, I feel like I mean, I highly recommend just witnessing because it is it, it was at least the experience I had, it was absolutely it was almost like a religious experience. It was incredible.
SPEAKER_04Amazing, yeah. So yeah, there's so much beauty and love when it comes to sex and intimacy, and to be able to witness that with other people too, I think is really cool.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and like, you know, it's like I mean, we treat sex like it's this, it's gotta be this really private thing. But like, I mean, the cool thing to me about the orgy is yeah, there's a witnessing that's taking place. There's this group of people, however big it is, that you know, it's no longer just two people that are off in hiding somewhere. Not that that's not amazing because it can be, obviously. Yeah, but like there's sort of this communal, like where there's some witnessing of each other and we're all in this energy together. And and so yeah. So yeah. So that's interesting that you that that's something that you think about. Very cool. Yeah, definitely. So, okay, so what would you say is one outstanding detail of that fantasy that makes it so hot for you?
SPEAKER_04I just think it would be amazing, kind of what you said about like the energy, but to be in the same room of like other people having sex as well, like just being so in the moment. I think that's something that's really lacking in our society today is being present. And um, not that I'm not present while I'm having sex, but sometimes it's easy to be in my head. But if there are other people, I think I would just be really into experiencing it as a whole, you know, instead of just me and my husband.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. Well, I mean, it's almost like I mean, to me, it's not that different than like, I mean, I just came back from a Joe Dispenzer retreat, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02And there is absolutely something about like all my meditations elevated to another level because like collective energy of all these people that are just raising, you know, and so it's like, yeah, I mean, why not the same thing with the sexual experience? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um okay, is there a particularly memorable sexual experience that you're willing to talk about?
SPEAKER_04So let me see if there's a very memorable one. I think it was it was honestly pretty recent. Um that so one of the things in uh Mama Gina's book that she talks about is framing. So like after you've had sex with your partner, like you go back and you tell them like what you loved about the scenario or the situation, like, oh, I loved when you went down on me, or I loved when you whatever. And you give them that feedback. And one of the things that like, so my husband and I do that often. And there was actually it was right before the retreat, right before Tennessee. So, okay, we have uh almost six-year-old son. So sex usually is like, all right, let's go, let's go, you know, like be quiet. We got a whatever, right? Like timing, whatever. So before I left for Tennessee, we had like an hour and a half sex capade, which was nice phenomenal. Yeah, it felt so good just to like be so connected for that time. And for for us, that's a long time. And I don't know if that is for other people, but it is.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04So it was really beautiful. But um, like at one point he started moaning and he's never done that ever. And he was like, yeah, after one of the things, you know, that he talked about, he's like, I really felt good to like release sound because he doesn't normally. And I was like, I was turned on by it, he was turned on by it, and just to like talk about it after and you know, confirm basically that both of us just we just felt so connected. So I know again, that's really vanilla, but so that's awesome.
SPEAKER_02No, you know, I mean, there I mean, the thing is, is I mean, my hope obviously is that there'll be lots of different people who listen to this and they'll come from all and there's plenty of, I mean, I think most people are vanilla.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I don't know, probably.
SPEAKER_02No, I think well, you know, I mean, I think that you know, like more kinky, it's it's like something that is popular as to talk about on the subject of sex. But I honestly think that there ought to be more conversation about about what can make, you know, vanilla sex really great. Because like, you know, I mean, I think that's an experience that most people have and want. And and wouldn't it be awesome if we could talk about that more, you know, and not make it like it's sort of like a lesser than kind of sex? Because if it's like what makes you sexually turned on, and then it's awesome, you know? Yeah, that's so true. So yeah, I mean, vanilla was the OG ice cream flavor, right? So yeah. So let's see. Is there anything about your sexuality that you think uh anyone but your closest friends might be surprised by? Um I yeah, probably and you're like, and I'm not telling.
SPEAKER_04Um no, I totally find women attractive.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. And I it's actually something I was like, I wonder what he's gonna ask today. And if that comes up, I'm just gonna share it. Um like I I'm the type of person that I just feel like bodies in general are fucking beautiful. It does, I don't care about your gender. Like, love is love. And if you can appreciate somebody's body and mind and soul for who they are, then I don't care what their gender is. So anyway, that's I think people would probably be surprised to learn.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, thank you for sharing that. I think that's amazing. I mean, yeah, I I um That's cool. I was actually I was actually gonna ask that specific question about, you know, if you were to put yourself on the spectrum of like I'm 100% straight or 100% gay where you know you're just yeah, I'd probably be like 50-50 if I had to put a percentage.
SPEAKER_04Like, not that I I don't like see myself in a relationship with a woman ever, you know, but like to experience a woman, yeah, that would be awesome. Totally.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, awesome. All right. Um, so I have like a lightning round. Oh you ready? I'm ready. Uh rank your preference. Fingers, toys, boys. I'm gonna throw girls in there too. NY.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Um, boys, definitely number one. Because there's what's that song? Ain't nothing like the real thing. So definitely number one. Um, toys number two, fingers three, and I've never experienced a girl, so I don't know. I gotcha. No idea. I guess it'll be four for now.
SPEAKER_02We'll have to we'll have to come back in the year and see if there's an update.
SPEAKER_04For sure. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um okay. What on Netflix makes you want to chill? Oh, um, okay.
SPEAKER_04Oh god, what's the name of that show? Outlander? Is that the name of it? Have you seen that? Okay, hottest sex scenes ever. Like, really good. That's really good. And then um, I think it was called Sex Life. That was also a great show that was about like this husband and wife who she started, you know, reconnected with an old flame and was fantasizing about him, and that was really hot and heavy. That was good. That was a good one.
SPEAKER_02Gotcha. So either one of those shows me like, hey, honey.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like why don't you sit here and watch this with me? Yeah. Yeah, totally.
SPEAKER_02Awesome. Okay. This one might be kind of a this is this little spicy one.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_02Craziest place you've ever had sex.
SPEAKER_04Oh, crazy were so boring. I like in a car and a parking lot, like, yeah. I mean, I'd totally be down for like some dressing room stuff or airplane, but yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, like the Mile High Club bathroom situation.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, although I can't imagine that's really enjoyable. I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_02Right. The bathroom is so I swear they make those bathrooms just a little too small to make that. I kind of know how people pull that off, really. I've never done that one either. Yeah. And I'm like, you know, it's a thing that we talk about, and that in theory, but then you go in the bathroom at an airport.
SPEAKER_04They're fucking gross.
SPEAKER_02And I'm like, okay, A, it is kind of gross. B, it's really small in here. Like, yeah. How do you yeah. I don't know. Who knows? Well, again, a year from now, if we do this, I mean mine might well, maybe we'll have an update and we'll feel like that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I'll listen to your other guests and be like, ooh, maybe I will try there.
SPEAKER_02Maybe although maybe I need to start asking people like, have you done the Maha Club and how?
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_02We need to know how to make that. Yeah, exactly. All right. Um, last question. Okay. How would you feel about a t-shirt that says I got filthy on the front?
SPEAKER_04Um, yeah, I'd rock that shit.
SPEAKER_02Okay, cool, awesome. I'm planning on, yeah, I'm thinking about like doing t-shirts for guests.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I love that idea. That is so fun. Oh, I would definitely rock that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_02Okay, cool.
SPEAKER_04Or even like I got filthy with Morgan Hale.
SPEAKER_02So I think the back's gonna say like filthylittle secrets.com, uncensored and unashamed, something like that. But the front will just love it. The front will just be like, I got filthy, and people can wonder what did she do?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, a good conversation starter.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04That's awesome.
SPEAKER_02Well, well, thank you so much for having this conversation with me and coming on and talking about the sexy things.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, well, thank you for paving the way, and I think that this is really important.
